Overview

The Potloc MCP server connects your Potloc account to any AI assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol. Your assistant reads your survey results, reports and questionnaires in place, so you stop exporting spreadsheets to ask questions of them.

It is a remote server. Nothing to install, nothing to host. In Claude Desktop and claude.ai it is listed in the connector directory, ready to connect. Every other client points at one URL:

https://mcp.potloc.com

Anyone with a Potloc account and access to at least one survey. You sign in with the credentials you already use on the platform, SSO included, and reach exactly the surveys you can open there. What each role unlocks is set out in Permissions and data scope.

Area What your assistant can do
Identity Tell you which Potloc account the connection is authenticated as.
Surveys Browse the surveys you can reach, and read one’s details.
Questionnaires Read a questionnaire’s full structure, and author your own.
Questionnaire comments Leave notes for Potloc’s research team on a questionnaire, and read what they wrote back.
Questions List the analysis-ready questions a chart can be built on.
Reports Read and build reports, check the numbers behind their charts, and choose who can view each one.
Responses Read questionnaire responses through one of the survey’s data layouts.

Most tools only read. The ones that write say so in the tool reference, which lists every tool the server exposes with its arguments.

Every tool also carries a readable title for your client to label it with, and the standard MCP annotations — readOnlyHint, destructiveHint, idempotentHint, openWorldHint — so your client can decide on its own when to ask you before acting.

Questionnaire responses only. The server returns the answers to your survey and the analysis built on them. Respondent-level rows appear in one place, list_responses, and only through a data layout Potloc has published on the survey — the same layout your spreadsheet deliverable is rendered from, carrying the same columns. No other tool returns a respondent-level row. The tool reference has the field-by-field account.

Potloc’s own operational surfaces are not on this server either: no pricing, no deals, no sampling or fieldwork operations, no panel supply.
